(Lactuca sativa) Annual in the Aster Family, native to Eurasia. Frilly red oak-shaped leaves add beautiful color to gardens and salad mixes. Red Salad Bowl matures quickly, in around 30-60 days.
Planting suggestions: Average garden soil is sufficient. Full sun to partial shade. Direct-sow around the Final Frost. Direct sow seeds ⅛-¼” deep. Plant in rows 12-18” apart with seeds 3-6” apart; thin to 8-10” apart. Cut-and-come-again harvest, or pick larger leaves around edges before they fade.
