Camas Mix
(Camassia quamash & Camassia leichtlinii) This is a mix of Common Camas and Great Camas, as we have both growing on our property (some was already growing here, others we planted).
Camas is a cultural keystone species. Camas has beautiful purple blooms and edible bulbs; Camas is integral to the diets and cultures of tribes such as the Nez Perce. Research has shown that Native people have been managing Camas populations for the health and longevity of plant populations for at least 3,500 years. They have been in relationship with Camas for hundreds of years beyond that.
Planting: Camas needs cold-moist stratification to germinate. We have had success starting camas in pots, sprinkling several seeds on top of the soil, sprinkling a very small amount of soil on top, and leaving the pots out over the winter months.
Contains at least 50 seeds.
